SYPTPro V02.08.03 Release Notes
Issued: 25th April 2024. Updated:
System Requirements
SYPTPro may be installed on Windows XP (SP3) or later, however it is highly recommended to use Windows 7 or Windows 10. SYPTPro requires about 200MB of disk space.
Installation Notes
- If upgrading from V2.6.x or earlier the old version must be uninstalled. You will be prompted to uninstall during the install of this newer version.
- If you wish to downgrade to an older version (prior to V2.7.0) you MUST uninstall the current version first. Older SYPT installers will not detect V2.7 or later having been installed.
Changes in version V02.08.03 (from V02.08.02)
- Updates to images and branding and some minor text corrections.
Changes in version V02.08.02 (from V02.08.01)
- Added support for additional Digitax HD variants.
- Fixed an issue where SYPT would freeze showing the splash screen when certain Windows themes were chosen or high-contrast mode was active.
- Corrected issue where option number in device details printout was always zero, also removed meaningless "Target" item from printouts.
- Fixed an issue where if you altered comms settings on the startup dialog (under the "Go online" choice) the settings may not take effect.
- Winflasher update (V3.11):
- Prevent old firmware being programmed to SI-Applications modules with newer flash memory (tech note T190505).
- Fixed bug from V3.10 which prevented programming bin files to SM-Applications modules
- Fixed filename text entry limitation.
Changes in version V02.08.01 (from V02.08.00)
- Increased the default programming timeout used for new projects. This is required to overcome potential timeouts mid-way through programming a large program to an SI-Applications Compact module.
Existing projects won't be altered so if you experience timeouts whilst programming the module then you'll need to manually adjust this by going to Run > PC Communications Settings >
Settings > Advanced and increasing the Program Timeout value from the default of 500 to 2000.
- Fixed problems installing/upgrading if a newer version of the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime is already installed on the PC.
- Updated the Digitax indexer support library to fix a current scaling issue in the homing current limit block (_IndexerLimHomeBGrnd).
- Minor changes in help file.
Changes in version V02.08.00 (from V02.07.00)
- Added support for SI-Applications Compact module which fits into any of the slots on a Unidrive M type drive. This module is otherwise the same as SI-Applications Plus.
- With the new SI-Applications Compact module it is now possible to access it via an MCi210 or SI-EtherCAT module (providing the latest firmware is used in the interface module). The old SI-Applications Plus
module may be detected but it will not be possible to communicate with it other than via the built-in drive Ethernet port, serial RTU port on the drive or CTNet.
- Ethernet network scanning mode for discovering drives accessed on a different subnet via a gateway (such as EoE - Ethernet over EtherCAT). This avoids the use of broadcast messages,
which are typically blocked by gateways, and instead probes an address range.
- Support for Unidrive M751/753 drives and Elevator drives.
- Upgrading from V2.6 or earlier has been improved.
- Help file and user guide updates.
Changes in version V02.07.00 (from V02.06.13)
- Added new SI-Applications functions for User Mode Ethernet communications (requires V2.10 or later SI-Apps firmware and V1.7.0 or later on the drive's Ethernet interfaces).
- Updated the complier for SI-Applications to use a Unidrive M parameter database when determining if a parameter references (e.g. #1.21) is integer or floating-point.
- When scanning for drives, any Unidrive M drives that don't have a SI-Applications module fitted will now be ignored. If you want
to revert to the old behaviour of showing these drives then use Tools > Options and check the "Show newly discovered drives that are not programmable" option.
- Fixed compiler issues under Windows XP.
- Fixed runtime error with the SSRAMP function block.
- Help file now has separate section for SI-Applications module.
- Updated Unidrive M porting information (please ensure the SI-Applications Plus module firmware is up-to-date)
- The "Convert to Unidrive M" tool will now convert SM-Appplications, SM-ApplicationsLite, SM-ApplicationsLiteV2 as well as SM-Applications Plus modules into SI-Applications Plus on a Unidrive M.
- Updated Winflasher to fix issue where updating the system file of an SI-Applications module was reported as being completed prematurely.
- CTNet drivers for Windows 10 x64
- Drivers for the CT USB to RS485 converter lead (FTDI) are now included for Windows 7 or later.
- Improved installer.
- Other minor fixes.
Known Issues / Troubleshooting
- Attempting to install an earlier version of SYPTPro (<= V2.6.13) without first uninstalling the current version may result in a corrupt installation. Please uninstall the newer version first.
- If you have a Unidrive M / Digitax HD drive and are connecting via the drive's Ethernet port but SYPT doesn't detect the drive or the SI-Applications module then
ensure that the Modbus protocol is enabled. For a Unidrive M700, parameter 04.15.001 must be set to On (1).
